General Information on Buoyancy
The result is based on the principle of action and reaction, or in this case, buoyancy equals „counterforce.“ The upward buoyant force initially reduces the effective weight force of the object on the scale, causing the scale to momentarily lose balance. The buoyant force acting on the object, which is fully submerged in the glass of water, is equal to the weight of the water displaced by the object’s volume. Both forces combine, causing the scale to deflect and not return to its original position.
