Explanation of the Animation „Alpha Particles in Crossed Fields“
This animation provides insights into the properties of alpha particles, including their behavior in air, vacuum, or crossed fields. Using a potential experiment as an example, the animation demonstrates how to achieve precise control over alpha particles. Additionally, you can explore various settings within the animation using the controls in the SETTINGS button.
Experimental Setup for the Same Experiment:
- Vacuum pump
- Chamber with sample and capacitor plates
- Alpha particle source Am-241
- Capacitor plates with a distance of d = 0.9 mm and a fixed voltage U = 3000 V (E-field)
